Demerara syrup
Use your Simple syrup
7 ml
Angostura bitters
3 dashes

No mixing glass? A pint glass or the shaker tin.
No bar spoon? Any long spoon or a chopstick.
No strainer? Hold the ice back with a spoon or small sieve.
No jigger? A tablespoon is 15 ml.
1. Add Rye whiskey (15 ml)
Into a mixing glass.
3. Add Apple brandy (Calvados, applejack) (15 ml)
5. Add Demerara syrup (7 ml)
6. Add Angostura bitters (3 dashes)
The original swaps one dash for mole bitters.
7. Stir
With ice until well chilled, about 30 seconds.
8. Strain
Over one large ice cube.
